Remote Learning
If it becomes not possible for students to attend face-to-face education this page is designed to give you support with learning at home.
1. UCC Home Learning - what to expect from teachers if school is closed
-
Work for each timetabled lesson will be set by 9am on each day on Satchel:One.
-
Some subjects may set longer pieces of work, for example projects, but this will be broken down into suggested chunks for each lesson.
-
Work is expected to be completed on the day it is set (although deadlines may be longer to allow for logistical / technological pressures).
-
Teachers will be giving feedback on at least one piece of work per subject per fortnight – this may take the form of instant feedback from quizzes and from at least one longer assessed piece of work.
-
Teachers will be awarding House Points for good effort and achievement through Satchel: One.
-
We have asked teachers not to set work that requires printing.
-
We have also asked teachers not to set ‘homework’ or work due at the weekend to allow families to have proper ‘down-time’.
2. Satchel: One
Here are a series of links to quick guides on various aspects of Satchel: One:
3. How to communicate with teachers
There are two main ways to communicate with teachers during this time:
-
Short questions relating to individual tasks on Satchel; One – students should use the comments function in Satchel: One: Leaving comments
-
Longer questions relating to work or more general questions from either students or parents – use e-mail.
4. Additional learning activities
The two platforms below also offer lessons linked to our subject areas which students can work through:
There is also a wealth of learning activities which our students can engage with beyond what their teachers set. These can be found in the enrichment area of our website: Enrichment activities
