Being part of UCC

Please see our video to see why staff and students believe Team UCC is the place to be.

Uppingham Community College is a wonderful place to work. We have the pleasure and privilege of working with incredible young people within a school community that is caring, supportive and very enjoyable. Our students’ behaviour is excellent and there is a positive atmosphere for learning in the school.

Our school is situated in a picturesque part of the country, on the edge of the county of Rutland, close to the Leicestershire and Northamptonshire borders.

Vision

Our vision clearly indicates our approach to staff workload; ‘Everyone at UCC thrives, making excellent progress in their learning, achievement and development.’ We believe that if our staff have the conditions in which they can thrive, our students will in turn thrive in all aspects of their education and development.

Workload

We take a sensible approach to staff workload by ensuring our policies and practices focus on the aspects of education that make the biggest difference to students. We have shaped the way we work by reviewing educational research and literature with a critical eye and making decisions about their application within the context of our school.

Flexible working

We also work with our staff to enable flexible working; we believe that it is important to take a modern approach to working patterns and where appropriate staff are given some flexibility and freedom within their roles.
