My Child At School (MCAS)

UCC uses Bromcom as its MIS (Management Information System) and it is a crucial piece of software for ensuring the correct storage and use of data across the school. It holds many features that also contribute to the smooth running of the school on a day-to-day basis and one of these is the MCAS (My Child at School) app.

This app allows the school to ensure it is providing the most up-to-date information to parents on a daily basis and forms part of our ongoing objective to help parents/carers keep track of how their child is doing in school and to also give them easier avenues for communicating with us with regard to any aspect of their child's school life.

As part of this process, we are introducing a new method for reporting an absence via MCAS and this will take effect from 23rd February 2026 (after February half term).

The key points to note are:

  • Absences reported via phone calls or our absence email address will no longer be checked or logged.

  • Any absence not recorded via the 'Report an Absence' tab on the MCAS Parent App will remain unauthorised until it is correctly submitted.

Below is a set of FAQs to help support any parents that are struggling with accessing or using the app. A guide has also been attached underneath that offers step-by-step instructions for logging an absence in this way. This change will ensure that our attendance monitoring systems are more streamlined, efficient and accurate, enabling us to track attendance more effectively and provide timely support where needed.

How To Access Your Child's Information Using MCAS

Using MCAS for the First Time

Viewing your child's academic information can be done via the app or by using a browser (Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Firefox etc...).

Upon your child officially starting at school, you should receive an email to your registered email address that provides a link to reset the password for your MCAS account. If you do not receive a link in this manner, please get in touch with studentservices@ucc.rutland.sch.uk and they will double-check your registered email address.

Forgotten Passwords

If you forget your password for your MCAS account, you can initiate a password reset link yourself by following these steps:

  • Visit www.mychildatschool.com if you are on a browser or open the MCAS app on your mobile device.

  • Below the area where you can input your log in details, click the 'Reset Password' Option.

  • Enter your Email address and tick on the reCAPTCHA box. Once done, check your inbox for an email that will provide a link to reset your password.
