Pippa's 10,000 steps a day challenge
Pippa, one of our Y8 students wanted to do something positive and try and raise some money for a charity that is very close to her and her family's heart. We are incredibly proud of Pippa and the challenge she has taken on - if you are able to support her and her Mum that would be fantastic. Please read their story below:
On the 9th July 2019, I received the devastating news that the breast cancer I had in 2016 had returned, but this time unfortunately it has metastasis into my lungs for which there is no current cure. Treatment is palliative care for which I receive excellent treatment at the Leicester Royal Infirmary every 3 weeks via intravenous drip.
Exercise has been really important to me during this journey and it really helps me mentally.
I’m positive that somewhere out there a cure will one day be found, however this will only happen by people giving to vital research.
So when Pippa, my beautiful 12 year old daughter, who keeps me going through all this suggested we complete the 10,000 steps per day in March for walk all over cancer it motivated me to do it, not only do I believe that the funds raised will help but just when we all need a positive boost I believe the benefits to our mental health will make us happier and healthier.
Why not get involved yourselves and challenge us to how many steps a week you can achieve.
