ACE Day review

Read all about ACE day...

Our 1st ACE day of the year was a great success with students across the college being involved in a variety of different activities designed to enhance their knowledge and understanding of life beyond the classroom.

We welcomed 'The Art of Brilliance' to our Y7 students. Their workshop was designed to increase the students positivity, motivation and BRILLIANCE. They reminded our newest recruits to Team UCC how to be their best self.

Y8 played 'The Real Game', which is a series of classroom-based programmes developed to help students learn more about themselves and both the opportunities and the responsibilities of adult life in a fun and constructive way.

Y9 formed companies for 'Enterprise Day' and created prototypes of a product or service, that they then marketed to visiting business people. They had to discuss their business plans and the research that had gone into developing their products and services to gain investment from the visitors.

Y10 took part in a careers day which enabled students to begin looking at their online career profile and starting to consider post 16 options. Alongside this all of our Y10 students learnt the valuable skill of how to carry out CPR.

'World of Work' was delivered to Y11. This focused on post 16 options, how to complete application forms, skills and tips for interviews and the opportunity to take part in a mock interview.
