The D of E Award

Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Update

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme has been extremely successful at Uppingham Community College with high enrolment levels and completion rates.  To maintain these high completion rates all students currently enrolled on the award will be helped to complete all four sections.  When this has been achieved we will then open up enrolments for new participants to register.  This will coincide with the college’s renewal of our DofE Operational licence.

Do your DofE

Here at Uppingham Community College we are a Licenced Provider of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme.  We are very fortunate that all areas of the award can be offered. The college offers Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards to students and we are able to mentor once they have moved on to further education.  There is a cost for registration, materials and expeditions; however, we will endeavour to keep this affordable to all.  If you are interested in starting or continuing your award, check out the Enrichment Booklet each student receives or contact the DofE Manager.

There are 4 sections to the Bronze and Silver levels and 5 sections to the Gold level, all of which need to be completed in order to gain the Award. These sections consist of: Skills, Physical, Volunteering, Expedition and Residential. Use the menu on the left to get some idea of what you can do in each section.
