Dear parents and carers,

I have been incredibly impressed with so many students this week. There has been much to celebrate at UCC over the past five days and in particular, Hairspray has been a hot topic of conversation around school. Everyone who I have spoken to about our school production has been overwhelmed by the fantastic performances and huge credit must go to all students and staff who have worked so hard. With two performances (tonight and tomorrow afternoon) still to go, I know some students are already getting emotional about it all coming to an end!

Our Under 14 boys’ rugby team performed magnificently in horrendous conditions against South Charnwood in the cup final yesterday. The game ended in a narrow defeat for UCC but Mr Rowan was beaming with pride today for the superb performances from the boys.

Dr Major took four students from Year 10 to represent UCC at the Big Bang Science Fair at the NEC this week and she was equally proud of how brilliantly they represented our school. I personally had the pleasure of taking two former Bringhurst students back to their primary school this week to deliver a whole school assembly about life at UCC. I was so impressed with the way in which they spoke about their experiences so far in Year 7. Additionally, I also had the opportunity to take my Year 10 Child Development class to Little Angels nursery in Uppingham; all of the girls represented the school superbly and made quite an impression on the staff and children there.

I hope you all have a good weekend.
Mr Solly
