Dear Parents and Carers

It was great to see so many families at our Year 10 parents’ evening last night. Parents’ evenings are an incredibly important part of establishing a strong relationship between school and home for our students and throughout this year we will be looking to further increase the proportion of parents attending these events.

We have focussed on attendance throughout this week with our students; however this is not just a one-off event for us. Maintaining a high level of attendance at school is critical to students achieving well and we will continue to focus on increasing our attendance figures throughout the year. Another focus for this week has been careers information for Year 11. We invited in an experienced careers advisor, who has spent the week hosting assemblies and leading 1-1 and small group careers advice meetings with our students. We have received lots of positive feedback from our students on how this has worked. Year 11 have some important decisions to make about their next steps beyond UCC and the advice provided this week will have helped them in this process.

I hope you all have a great weekend.
