Dear Parents/Guardians

Last night we celebrated the achievements of the UCC Year 11 cohort from 2016-17 at Presentation Evening. These events are always special occasions and one of the most rewarding aspects of working with young people is seeing them collect the qualifications and awards they worked so hard for during the past 5 years of their education. Although I didn’t know the students who returned on Thursday evening as UCC alumni, I loved seeing the pride that was etched on the faces of parents and family members, and also the staff who worked so hard with those young people during their time here.

Today was Children In Need day and we had a vast array of fundraising activities occurring across the school; it was wonderful to see staff and students getting involved in raising money for a very good cause. We will be sharing the monies accrued with the national Children In Need charity along with a much more local effort, where we are supporting Hope, a Year 8 UCC student, towards buying a new electric wheelchair. Hope’s fundraising page is here:

In order to keep our students safe please take the time to read the attached information about the College car park.  If you have any comments or observations regarding any car park issues please contact Mr Berridge at the College.

On a final note from me, I’d like to remind parents of an area of our website that contains useful information that can support you in keeping your child safe online. In school we talk regularly to students about this topic, but as technology advances so quickly it is very important we are all aware of the potential e-safety issues our young people can be exposed to. By clicking here you can find a range of resources that can provide you with a timely refresher on how to keep your child safe online.

Have a lovely weekend.

Mr Solly.
