Dear Parents & Guardians,

The interviews took place for my successor this week and it was a rigorous process involving governors, staff, students and an external HR consultant. All the candidates were extremely impressed by the college and its ethos and standards and the students, as always, were excellent ambassadors for the school.  I am pleased to confirm that governors have appointed Mr Ben Solly to be the next principal of UCC and he will take up the post in August at the start of the new academic year. Mr Solly is currently the Head Teacher of Lutterworth College in Leicestershire.

On 23rd February Tim Marshall is giving a lunchtime seminar on Geopolitics. Tim has been a journalist for over 25 years and has reported from many conflict zones around the world. He is a commentator on global politics for both Sky News and The Guardian. He has published several highly regarded and best selling books including "Prisoners of Geography" and "Worth Dying For- the power and politics of flags". This is just an example of the wide ranging seminars and workshops that have been arranged this academic year by Mr Moloney.

The Upper and Lower School ski trips depart today for Austria and we wish them well for an enjoyable trip and I wish you well for a happy half term.
