Friday 11th November 2016

Dear Parents & Guardians,

I appreciate that the weather is turning for the worse now so students need to wrap up well to come to school.  However, once the bell has rung in the morning there should be no need to have hats, scarves, gloves or coats on in the building during the rest of the day so I have asked students to please put them in their lockers or bags and not wear them to move around the site or in lessons.

Students are required to wear an appropriate coat over their school jumper and blazer. Non-uniform jumpers are not acceptable and uniform should be worn correctly to and from school.

PROPOSED CHANGES TO ADMISSIONS ARRANGEMENTS:

UCC is undergoing a 6 week consultation period on proposed changes to its Admission Arrangements for 2018 intake. Please find more details on our website:

I don’t like to start the run up to Christmas too early but we have launched the college Christmas Card Competition this week as we need time to judge and print the winning design! Please can you encourage your budding artistes to enter this and emphasise that we are looking for creative, beautifully presented ideas/designs. They should be A5 in size and handed in to Student Services or Miss Williams in Art – flyer attached. If they wish to take part the deadline is next Friday 18th November

1st, 2nd & 3rd Prizes will include ITunes vouchers and a pack of Christmas cards with their design on.  They must put their name, age and tutor group on the back of the card designs. (House points will also be awarded).

The Children in Need letter is attached. I am delighted that UCC has been requested to send photos of students to be included in the TV programme next week as we are one of the top fundraising schools in the country.

Thank you.
