Dear Parents & Guardians,

I hope that you all had a pleasant Easter break.

The holidays themselves were both busy and successful. Our usual Don Bosco exchange went very well with over 120 visitors from Belgium enjoying the ‘friendly’ sporting rivalry between the two schools.  The group of students who went to the Extreme Physics event at Rugby School performed exceptionally well and came 2nd overall. A number of students took part in the Rutland Spotlight Dance Show and the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze group completed their practice expedition. So well done to all those students and, as always, many thanks to all the staff who gave up their time to organise and support these activities.  Also thank you to those parents who helped in a variety of ways to ensure that all the students involved had such a good time.

As you will be aware government regulations regarding school attendance are much more stringent and we have to follow up any absence extremely thoroughly, requesting medical information to be supplied in circumstances which previously would have only required a parental ‘note’. I am afraid that this may, occasionally, seem to be overly bureaucratic but we are bound by statutory duties.
