Friday 11th March 2016

Dear Parents & Guardians,

Yesterday’s Theme Day was extremely successful with  a wide variety of activities taking place. Theme days are an integral part of our Personal Development Curriculum so this term we focused  on Community Awareness, Personal Safety and ‘Being the best you can be’. We had many visitors including the Guide Dogs for the blind, 2 Paralympians, the Teenage Cancer Trust, the Fire Service and the Police. This takes a lot of organisation from Mrs Stuart-Jones and the Heads of Year so I am delighted the students responded so well to the day.

Next week we are taking part in Sport Relief, as you will see from the attached letter. As outlined,  students may come to school dressed as their favourite sporting hero or in their PE kit. Please support this good cause by ensuring that your child’s outfit is appropriate for a school day and it is UCC sports kit only, not any PE outfit. The 24 hour Sportathon for 12-00 noon Friday  to 12-00 to 12-00noon Saturday should be fun!
