'Doing Democracy' EU Workshop

Before the Easter Break, some students took part in a European Union workshop that gave them an insight into how the European Union works, its members, responsibilities and the potential effects Brexit will have on the UK.

The Year 10 and 11 Citizenship students will have gained a substantial and invaluable amount of knowledge and understanding of the brexit process which will help them in their GCSE's and beyond in and out of education.

Mr Toner, the Citizenship teacher, said
" This was an excellent day for the GCSE students as it provided them with information and answered a lot of questions about the E.U. and the brexit process that they and of course many others have about the process and it allowed them to be aware of the effect it could and will have on them as young people"

Thank you to Asher Jacobsberg, from 'Involver' for coming in to lead the 'Doing Democracy' sessions.
"involver is a social enterprise that helps young people to have a say in the places they go and the services they use."
