UCC brothers raise over £1000 for charity

Alfie and Jude Major, who are brothers aged 13 & 11, cycled from their home in Leicestershire to where their Aunty Janet grew up in Islington, London- which is around 100 miles.

They completed the bike journey to raise money for pancreatic cancer, in memory of their Aunty Janet, who sadly passed away in October 2015.

The boys said of their challenge,

"Our Aunty Janet was a lovely, kind and considerate person. She was always happy to see us when we visited her in the tearoom she ran in Filey with my Uncle Paul. We were really upset when she was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in April 2015 and after a brave fight, she died in October 2015.

Aunty Janet was always fun loving and loved adventures, so we wanted to go on an adventure and raise money to help find a cure or find new early diagnosis techniques for Pancreatic cancer.

We still miss Aunty Janet and wish she could be with us - but only for the flat bits, she didn't like cycling up hills!"

They completed the bike ride at the beginning of the school term, and have so far raised almost £1400 for charity Pancreatic Cancer Action.

Alfie & Jude have a 'JustGiving' page for their fundraising, if you would like to donate to the cause.

"Please help us raise money to help stop this from happening to other people. Thank you very much.

Jude & Alfie"
