Changes to our Admissions Policy

Consultation on Uppingham Community College Admission Arrangements for September 2018

In line with the Department for Children, School and Families School Admission Code, Uppingham Community College is now consulting on its admission arrangements for September 2018. There are two changes to the criteria as shown in the attached admissions policy.

In summary, the main changes to the admission arrangements are;

  • Those with a sibling attending the College.  The sibling must be on roll at the College at the time of the proposed admission of the applicant to the College. This criterion will now move above the catchment criterion to ensure continuity of educational provision for relevant families. We have also changed the criterion to no longer include those with a sibling in the last five years.
  • Those attending the following primary schools: Billesdon Parochial, Cottingham CofE or Church Langton CofE Primary Schools. The phrase ‘living in the catchment areas of…’ has been removed from this criterion so only those children attending the relevant schools will be considered under this criterion.

The consultation period will run for 6 weeks starting on 7th November 2016 and ending on 16th December 2016.

Please feel free to contact the college should you wish to discuss any aspect of the proposed admission arrangements.

You will find below an attachment detailing in full the proposed change to September 2018 admissions arrangememts.
