Consultation

Dear Parents & Guardians

I am writing to consult with you on some exciting new developments at the college. As you know the college continues to be a high achieving and over subscribed school. We are continually working to increase the opportunities that we can offer our young people.

The proposals being introduced by the government means that there is a change of emphasis on some areas of the curriculum. To implement these effectively we feel that this is an appropriate time to change the structure of the college day. It is also important that we maintain our outstanding pastoral system which ensures that every child receives personal support as an individual, a crucial factor in achieving success.

We want to streamline the day and ensure continuity for students, parents and staff. We are also aware that a significant number of students wish to stay on after the end of the school day to do homework and we will provide the opportunity for them to do this in a supervised environment.

It is our intention to provide the best all round educational experience for your sons and daughters and we believe that these changes will allow us to do this.

The main proposals are to change the start and finish time of the college day to an 8-40am start and 3-25pm finish every day. This would be for implementation from August 2015.

If you wish to comment on these proposals please do so by contacting me directly  principal@ucc.rutland.sch.uk before 18th July so that I may respond to your concerns.
