The Hour of Code

On March 3rd-9th http://uk.code.org/ are dedicating the week to an hour of code. The aim is to inspire developers of the future. It will introduce one hour of an introduction into computer science. The ICT department is helping launch this event in London and are aiming for all students to have a taste of programming. Uppingham Community College has been building apps with their students for a few months now and are now encouraging others across the school to get a taste of programming.

Uppingham Community College have been invited down to London to help launch this event and we’re also encouraging all parents to get involved! If you’ve never coded and would like to try it out. Check out http://uk.code.org and go to the tutorials link and build your very own angry birds game. On completion of your hour of code you will receive a certificate for your completion.

If you have a picture with your certificate we would love to hear from you! Email chambers_r@ucc.rutland.sch.uk with the picture.

We’re looking forward to compiling a collage of all the certificates from students, parents and staff!
